Sometimes coming across the ones that are more luxurious can make the flying experience more enjoyable but it will cost you a bit more. These airports are usually set up to allow for more flying destinations and less delays, such as the four runways found at the Haneda Airport in Tokyo or the beautiful location of the Kansai International Airport in Osaka, Japan.

It costs more to fly with these airports but it may be worth it to many who are looking for more modern comforts, a better flying experience, and an airport with a system that runs like a well-oiled machine. Kansai International Airport in Osaka, Japan

Probably one of the most beautiful airports in the world is the one in Osaka called the Kansai International Airport. It’s worth $20 billion with a bridge alone that cost $1 billion. The appeal of Kansai is the beautiful design and amazing location. This busy airport provides service for 24 hours and customers will be flying for around $5k.

Not only is this airport beautiful but it was designed very well. It was built on a 2.5-mile artificial island with a large sea wall to protect against natural issues like the waves and a bridge that helps people get to the island. It actually survived the 1995 Kobe earthquake. This airport serves 14 million passengers a year making it the 18th busiest airport in the world being used by airlines like Nippon and Japan.

Haneda Airport in Tokyo, Japan

Another Japan airport makes the list for the most expensive airports in the world. Haneda Airport mostly serves the Tokyo area being a hub for airlines like Japan and Nippon Airlines. This airport stands out for having four runways making it capable of way more flights. In addition, Haneda is considered the most punctual airport in the world. Expect flights over $6k here but enjoy a large airport, great facilities, many flight options, and timely flights.

London Heathrow Airport

The London Heathrow Airport makes the list for its $10.5 billion price tag. This is the largest airport in London, if not the world, and has been around since 1929. Terminal 5 built back in 2008 is probably the most expensive part. They are also working to upgrade Terminal 3 over a 10-year span which is adding $16.6 billion to the overall cost.

La Guardia Airport in New York

A US location makes the list right in the Big Apple. La Guardia in New York is one of the largest airports in the country as far as flights and passengers goes. In fact, just a few years ago it was found that 26 million people traveled through here which displays just how huge this airport is. Major airlines like Delta and American use it. It’s been updated with modern features and facilities making this airport cost around $4k for flights.

Dublin Airport in Ireland

Another European airport makes the list for one of the most luxurious airports. You’ll pay around $4k to land in Dublin Airport of Ireland because of the unique look and facilities. It’s in a great location just 5 minutes from the city, it’s very large for passengers, and it’s the most used airfield in the country. It serves millions of people each year.

Hong Kong International Airport

Another airport makes the list for its $20 billion price tag. Hong Kong International took six years to build and opened in 1998 on its own artificial island. They actually had to remove a small island to create this new land for the airport’s location.

Al Maktoum International Airport

With a $12 billion price tag, Al Maktoum International Airport makes the list for being one of the most expensive airports. It’s about 20 minutes outside of Dubai in Jebel Ali, United Arab Emirates. They opened in 2010 but just recently started accepting passenger flights. It’s currently expanding to have five runways and three passenger terminals, as well as 100,000 parking spaces. Once the work is done in 2027, it will have cost $12 billion for this massive airport. In fact, each of the runways will expand 16,100 feet.

Beijing Capital International Airport

At $8 billion, Beijing’s International Airport helps up to 80 million people each year. They expanded Terminal 3 recently bringing their price tag way up, but the terminal has 3.2 million square feet of space. The terminal features restaurants and tons of baggage areas that use a barcode system for handling materials.
