In recent years the city of Coconut Grove has started some really nice traditions for the 4th of July celebrations. These celebrations includes great events for both adults and kids. If you are looking for a fun filled day than this 4th of July in Coconut Grove would be a great option for you to consider.
Start the day with an old-fashioned picnic at the Barnacle Historic State Park. Your entire family can enjoy traditional board games, crafts, a scavenger hunt, and make and fly your own kite. Bring your own picnic basket or purchase hot dogs and burgers from the Barnacle Society. 11:00 am – 4:00 pm. Admission: $5 for adults and $3 for children ages 6-12.
At 1:00 PM you are welcome to walk over to CocoWalk for some great entertainment, including music, balloon twister and face painting artist and the 5th annual CocoWalk Hot Dog eating contest (starting at 4:00 PM) where great prizes are awarded to the winners. Sans of Tyme will start plying some rock music at 7:00 PM. At 9:00 PM the Peacock Park fireworks show will start. you can stay in CocoWalk and enjoy the show from one of their spacious outdoor balconies, or if you would like to be closer to the fireworks you can walk over to the Park.
