Art Deco James Royal Palm Set to Open This 2012
September 15, 2012The place where the Royal Palm Hotel once was will give rise to the new The James Royal Palm. Set to open late 2012, the new luxury hospital brings to life Miami’s local art and culture and history.
World-famous firm Rottet Studio handled the visionary project with a new sprawling resort, two inviting swimming pools, full-service spa, and lobby lounge. This hotel will also feature meticulously done topiary and breath-taking outdoor living rooms. Living up to its name, the new hotel will be surrounded by iconic palm trees and fountains, which help create a relaxing vibe.
The architecture and design team behind the luxury property incorporated elements from the once Royal Palm Hotel. Art deco is alive as The James Royal Palm has a beautiful, cascading staircase and terrazzo-inspired flooring. The previous front desk and reception area was converted into a café with an artistic green glass back wall.
Consisting of 179 guest rooms and 211 suites, The Royal James Palm offers an exhilarating view of the sea. Each luxurious room has exclusively-patterned wooden headboards. The room’s dining area also has lovely, sea blue glass-topped table.
Aside from the interior, the new hotel will also contain a new restaurant CATCH and nightclub SL Miami. A new entertainment junction created by the EMM Group is said to offer a nightclub similar to its flagship in Manhattan. SL Miami nightclub also features a distinct, metropolitan glamour while at the same time incorporating Miami’s art deco influences. The new NYC club-inspired venue is reported to have black-lit x-ray panels, gold-mirrored glass ceilings, and jewel toned façade.
CATCH provides Miami residents and guests with some of the best food in Miami; its menu has several delectable dishes. Its mouth-watering menu includes Crispy Whole Red Snapper, Tagliatelli with Flying Fish Roe in Scallion Tomato Sauce, and Dungeness crab. CATCH offers a sinfully delicious roster of seafood dishes.
Aside from SL Miami and CATCH, Florida Cookery will also be housed in The Royal James Palm. The brand new restaurant by Chef Kris Wessel offers innovative and artistic dishes that will satisfy even the most discerning eaters. Florida Cookery menu includes Lychee Roasted Quail, and Frog Legs in Lime Leaves.
