Celebrating Earth Day Throughout Miami, Florida
April 18, 2017Earth Day is a great time to honor the environment we all enjoy every single day. Celebrating the planet helps us better connect with the natural surrounding found throughout South Florida and other areas of the country. If you want to get out and celebrate Earth Day this year in Miami, here are some of the best events to enjoy.
Earth Day Festival in Miami
On Sunday, April 23rd from 12pm to 4pm, the Village of Pinecrest will host the Earth Day Festival in Miami. This incredible event will include plenty of workshops, food demonstrations, an eco-fashion show, wildlife shows, planting activities, planting sales and so much more.
The CLEO Institute and Plant Societies have organized the workshops. Local schools will also perform and there will be crafts for the kids. You can also enjoy the lady bug release and plenty of wonderful surprises.
The event is free for all to attend and all of the activities are open to the entire family. Parking can be found at Palmetto Senior High, Christ the King Church and Pinecrest Elementary. A free shuttle service will be available from these locations.
4Earth Biology by the Bay
The Miami Seaquarium will hold the 4Earth Biology by the Bay event on Thursday, April 20th to April 23rd from 5:30pm to 7:30pm. This event will help to celebrate Earth Day for four complete days. There will actually be four total events to enjoy with plenty going on each day.
The celebration will include a mini film festival, beach clean-up, guest lecture, happy hour, Lionfish derby and so much more. Joe Wasilewski, a Wildlife Biologist will be the guest speaker. Wine, beer and appetizers will be served and the event is free. Cash donations for drink tickets and cups are appreciated.
Land & Sea: Earth Day Concert
The Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Miami will hold the Land & Sea: Earth Day Concert on April 22nd from 7pm to 10pm. This concert will include music from Jennings & Keller and Three Sheets to the Wind. Some of the proceeds will be donated to the Land & Water Legacy.
Admission to the event is $15 at the door and $12 in advance. Some light food items and beverages will be available for purchase. The event venue is located at 7701 SW 76th Avenue in Miami.
Soundwaves at Marina Parc
A bayview jam perfect for celebrating Earth Day will be held on April 22nd from 6pm to 10pm at the Rickenbacker Marina. Soundwaves at Marina Parc will provide plenty of live performances from Locos Por Juana and other local favorites. This party will also include handmade drinks, local food, craft beers and more. Enjoy views of the Downtown Skyline while celebrating Earth Day.
Admission is free, but RSVP is required. Pop-up vendors will be on hand, as well.
Party for the Planet at Zoo Miami
Free admission will be provides from 10am to 4pm on April 22nd and 23rd at Zoo Miami with a donation of a used cell phone or a donation of $50 to the Ramos Boys Challenge. The event will include plenty of green activities throughout the day.

The collected cell phones will help to save gorillas from coltan in the Congo in Africa. Donations to the Ramos Boys will help to save the Everglades in the Miami area. The Florida Youth Orchestra will perform at 4:30pm on April 23rd, as well.
