Chow Down on the Best Seafood in Miami Beach at Joe’s Stone CrabMay 14, 2012
As one of Miami Beach’s most historic restaurants, Joe’s Stone Crab originally opened its doors in 1913 as little more than a quaint seafood stand serving beach-goers. However, over time and thanks to Joe’s world-class seafood preparation and delicious signature mustard sauce, this little seafood stand has grown and earned its place among the finest restaurants in Miami Beach, seafood or otherwise.
So, what makes Joe’s Stone Crab so special? Well, obviously their specialty is in the stone crab claws that earned them their namesake (often with the aforementioned signature mustard sauce), however, you will find exquisite dishes to satiate your palette whether you’re a “seafood person” or not.
Joe’s Stone Crab is notorious for putting all diners on the exact same level, whether frequent or first time, poor or rich, young or old. There are no reservations ever available; as in, they do not take reservations, not just that they’re too busy to ever get one. In fact, Joe’s has actually earned a bit of a reputation for less-than-average customer service. Waitstaff are not known to be overly courteous or kind (although there are exceptions), contrary to just about every single other high-end restaurants. But, rest assured that Joe’s wouldn’t get away with poor service if they didn’t have the goods to back it up. Luckily, with literally some of the best seafood in Miami they’re not worried about running out of business anytime soon, and customer service aside, you should by all means make the trip to taste some of their world famous crab claws. You can always get it to-go.
