Coral Gables & Two Other Family-Friendly Neighborhoods in South Florida

Miami may be known as a place for young professionals, retirees and those without children. However, its home to some very family-friendly neighborhoods offering great schools and plenty to be excited about. Coral Gables is one of the most family-friendly areas in South Florida, but it’s not the only choice. Here’s a look at three great communities for families moving to the Miami area.

Coral Gables

Relocating to Coral GablesNot only is Coral Gables one of the hottest places to live right now in Miami, but it’s also home to some of the best private schools. It’s a great place for families with plenty of things to do, amenities and a variety of real estate offerings for just about any budget.

Many of the communities found throughout are gated and private, while some are even on the water. Amenities are common here with plenty of playgrounds, tennis courts, swimming pools and even golf courses found with some of the communities. Of course, the ability to attend St. Philips or Gulliver is one of the main reasons families flock to this ear of Miami.

Most of the real estate in Coral Gables is single-family homes, but some luxury condos and townhomes are also offered here. Many new boutique buildings have been popping up in the area as an increased interest in condos in Coral Gables has become evident.

Weston

Another great choice for families is called Weston. It was actually ranked by CNNMoney as the Best Place to Live in American and one of the Ten Best Places for Families by Family Circle. This is a place to call home if you have children that enjoy parks, recreation and year-round events. As a parent, you will enjoy the great schools, beautiful town center and the nightlife offered here.

Weston also offers equestrian facilities and has one of the best soccer academies in all of South Florida. If you’re a cyclist, this is a great place, as well, since the community includes 46 miles of marked bike lanes making it possible to get around by bike.

Coconut Grove

Coconut Grove for FamiliesOf course, Coconut Grove has been known as one of the best places to raise children in Miami for a long time. IT has 24/7 police control throughout and one of the highest walkability scores of all the Miami communities. The streets are tree-lined and include sidewalks.

Many child-friendly parks are found throughout Coconut Grove and some of the best private schools are located here. Both Ransom and Carrolton schools are found in the Gove, which provides a great education for students. It’s also an ideal location close to Coral Gables, Brickell, the airport and many great beaches.

Coconut Grove is mainly dominated by single-family homes, but some luxury condos have started to pop up. In fact, Park Grove is one of the best condo communities in the area with a waterfront park, three towers and a great location. It’s a good choice for families enjoying condo living.
