You don’t have to depend on the modern arcades with overpriced entertainment and unsatisfying games. Instead, you can enjoy one of the many incredible arcades built to send you back to childhood as you enjoy games, nostalgia and plenty of fun.

Here’s a look at some of the top old school arcades spread throughout the South Florida area.

Arcade Odyssey – 12045 SW 117th Avenue, Miami

If you love games like Pac-man, Space Invaders, Rampage, Tron and others, this is the place for you. It may look like a casino, but it’s all about the classic arcade games. There are a few modern games, but most of the games found here are from days of old.

At night, you may discover the live, outdoor game they project on the front of the building. You will certainly find plenty of two player shooter games, pinball and stand up consoles here. If you love old school games, this may be the best place for you in all of South Florida.

GameTime – 5701 Sunset Drive, Miami

Found in the Sunset Place Mall, GameTime provides an incredible mix of old and new games. You can enjoy all types of choices with plenty of old school games here. There’s something for all ages and they even have a large portion of the place dedicated to pinball machines and classic games.

Along with the classic games, you can enjoy air hockey, ski-ball and pool. They also provide an arcade-style menu with plenty of things to enjoy. The sports bar will even serve up an adult beverage for you. Whether you bring the family or come as a date, this is a great place to enjoy old school games.

Tenth-Level Tavern – 1242 NE 38th Street, Oakland Park

Tenth-Level Tavern use to be known as Another Castle. It’s a bar with local craft beers and plenty of fun found across from the Funky Buddha Brewery. The arcade games provide both stand up and sit down formats for enjoying games.

It’s not exactly a classic arcade, but the custom built modules found here do resemble the old school type of gaming. In addition, Tenth-Level is the only video game bar found in South Florida.

Steve’s Pizza – 12101 Biscayne Boulevard, Miami

Old School ArcadeA family-friendly spot for good pizza, Steve’s Pizza also provides some excellent old school arcade games. You’ll find plenty of pizza items under $10 here and the walls are all painted with graffiti. The arcade games will take you back to the years of old when Donkey Kong was the king and plenty of people enjoyed Konami games.

Swap Shop – 3291 West Sunrise Boulevard, Fort Lauderdale

While the Swap Shop is known as a huge flea market with plenty of shops and discounts, it’s also an arcade. The upstairs features pinball, classic consoles and plenty of fun to enjoy.
