Expensive Hobbies of Wealthy People

July 16, 2012

With plenty of time on your hands and a ridiculously large bank account, you can basically do anything you want. For tips on what to do with your extra time and moolah, here are some of the expensive hobbies rich people get into:

Home brewing

If you want to always get that perfect brew for your alcoholic drink, then installing a home brewing system is a good idea. To brew your own beer once a month, you will have to spend thousands of dollars on buckets, hoses, bottles, and other important brewing equipment. Dreaming of becoming a moonshiner? Then prepare to shell out $12,000 to $250,000 or more for moonshine stills.

Chasing tornadoes

Aside from having plenty of cash, you need to have lots of guts in order to become a storm chaser. Keep in mind that you will be spending a lot of cash on expensive and high-tech cameras and equipment to get enough decent footage.

Vintage comic book collecting

If you think comic book collecting is kid stuff, then think again. According to a company that auctions off vintage comic books, the first ever Superman issue was actually bought for a whopping $1.5 million. If you were a comic nerd when you were a kid and you’re now a multi-millionaire, spending a couple of those millions on highly coveted comic books is always an exciting hobby.
