Foreign Buyers Hooking Up with Lamborghinis in Miami
December 5, 2012A seller of Lamborghinis, Brett David, is amazed at what’s happening in the market. He’s been selling Lamborghinis since he was 14 years old for his father who founded the company Lamborghini Miami, but he has never seen so many of these expensive cars being sold to a lot of foreign buyers.
David, the president and CEO of Lamborghini Miami, said that lately he hasn’t been able to sell a Lamborghini to a person who knows how to speak English. For several months, his clients mainly consisted of foreigners who were enticed by these super cars.  Increased sales in Miami condo units, paintings, wine, jewelry, and fashion is already occurring in the area. Lamborghini Miami, one or the country’s biggest sellers of expensive cars is also doing its part to help the economy.
Its showroom which showcases $15 million worth of cars is a favorite shop for extremely rich Venezuelans, Mexicans, Argentines, and Brazilians. He also gets occasional purchases from the Chinese and Russian buyers. David says that the markets from Brazil, Mexico, and Venezuela are steadily rising. They have a higher chance of getting the lifestyle they want here which they can’t have back home.
Lamborghinis have been linked with the tasteful Miami lifestyle. But the market is experiencing a demographic shift. It’s usually middle-aged Floridians in sophisticated suits who are buying these expensive sporty cars but now it’s also a common sight to see buyers who are young Brazilians wearing a t-shirt and shorts. It’s not only the guys who are hooking up with these luxury cars, Miami women are now buying them too.
David reveals that folks who step in in their shorts, t-shirts and flip flops are genuine buyers. They step off their boats to look at these luxurious cars and buy at the same time. Some of them also come in to rent. Costs for renting a Lamborghini Aventador is at $5,000 a day and David said that he is also getting high demand from rentals. He says it’s now normal to see guys spending $15,000 – $20,000 just to enjoy this vehicle in South Beach.
