iPhone 5 Is hereSeptember 12, 2012
As anticipated, Apple Inc. Announced the release of iPhone 5 today in it’s special event. The iPhone 5 is made entirely of glass and aluminum, it is 18% thinner, 20% lighter, Retina display, 326 PPI, 1136 x 640 screen resolution, 16:9 aspect ratio. The new screen is a 4 inch display. All of Apple’s apps were adjusted to fully support this screen size. Ultrafast Wireless, supports LTE. Faster performance with the Apple A6 chip. Twice as fast graphics and twice as fast cpu. Buttery life exceeds iPhone 4S. Dynamic low light mode, precision lens alignment, sapphire crystal are some of the iSight camera’s new fewtures. 1080p video, improved video stability, face detection — you can take photos while shooting video.
These are just some of the new exciting features of the iPhone 5. Preorders of the iPhone 5 start September 14, and shipping date was set to September 21. iOS 6 will be released September 19. iPhone 5 will ship with iOS 6, Owners of Owners if iPhone 3Gs, 4, 4s, iPad 2, and the new iPad will be able to upgrade to iOS 6 for free.
In addition to the iPhone 5 and iOS 6 Apple announced the upcoming release of new iPod Nano, and iPod touch later in October this year. Also a new version of iTunes was announced to be released in October as well. Today’s announcement revealed a huge upgrade to the iPhone and iPod lineups.
The biggest non-announcement of the day is probably the iPad mini. As we expected Apple did not announce an iPad mini today. This could mean one of two things: (i) Apple is not working on an iPad mini, or (ii) Apple is waiting to make an announcement about that closer to when Windows release their tablet. We still lean towards option (i). Another thing we will have to wait for is some kind of an upgrade to the Mac lineup up.
No big surprises were delivered by Apple today, perhaps the big surprise of the event was the performance of the band “The Foo Fighters”.
