Key Biscayne Soccer Club Creating Buzz

Key Biscayne Soccer ClubThe Key Biscayne Soccer Club has advanced in the Florida State Cup with both the U15 and U16 Elite teams winning in the Round of 16 and advancing to the Round of 8. The U15 Elite team won in the Round of 8, as well and advanced to play in the semi-finals on May 20th in Auburndale, Florida.

The Florida State Cup is the first portion of the US Youth Soccer National Championship Series. This series features the highest premier competition held at the state level. It’s also the most prestigious tournament for youth soccer in the nation with about 185K players participating and more than 10K teams.

Along with the U15 Elite team advancing, the U9-U12 teams competed in the Miami-Dade League this spring and many came out as champions. Here’s a quick look at some of the highlights and how the teams got to the next level.

U15/2002 Team Advances

On a header from a corner kick, Roc Bancells put the U15 team up 1-0 in the 65th minute. They went on to win the game 2-0 and advanced to the round of 8. They had already advanced by winning 3-1 in the Round of 16 after going down 1-0 early in the game.

U15 will play the Plant CityFC in Auburndale, Florida on May 20th.

U16/2001 Team Advances

The U16 team advanced to the round of 8 when they defeated Leg-A-Z Caimans with the winning goal scored by Toby Squiare with just minutes remaining. They advanced to the Round of 8, but lost to the Florida Rush Elite from Jacksonville 2-1 with a disputed penalty.

U9 Elite Becomes Champions

Soccer TournamentsThe U9 Elite team advanced to the finals after the weekend of playoffs. They beat Pinecrest 7-1 and CES-Juventus 4-3. They went on to win the championship over Miramar United 5-0.

U11 Girls Advance to Finals

The U11 Girls team also advanced to the finals after two close games in the playoffs. After advancing the U11 girls won the championship over Real Miami U11 Girls Madrid 2-1.

U11 Select Wins 3 in a Row

It took 3 wins in a row for the U11 Select team to advance to the finals. They won all three games 3-0 over PSG Academy, KBSC/Premier and South Dade United. After three in a row, the U11 team lost in the championship to Miami Strike Force 1-0.

U12 Elite Advance to Finals

After beating Miami Strike Force 2-1, the U12 Elite team also advanced to the finals of the Miami-Dade League. The championship game was held over the weekend and the U12 Elite team won over MSVG LOYOLA 3-1.
