A gated community found within Coral Gables, Gables by the Sea is very exclusive. Residents living here enjoy 24/7 security and a neighborhood known as a boater’s paradise. Most of the homes here are found on deep water canals with boat docks. Access to the Biscayne Bay is provided without any bridges along the way.
The community is located just a few minutes from popular business districts in Brickell, Coconut Grove and Coral Gables. It’s also found near some of the best schools in Coral Gables and not far from the Miami International Airport.
Real Estate in Gables by the Sea
Filled with many wealthy families, this exclusive gated community provides plenty of amenities and luxury properties. Many properties include private boat docks, large balconies, resort-style swimming pools and guest homes. It’s not uncommon to find homes with spas, marble flooring and fireplaces within this neighborhood, either.
The homes range from about $825K up to $6.5 million. The average price in 2015 was about $2 million. Homes in the neighborhood are rather large with between 3,500 and 4,000 square feet of living space. Most home sit on a lot of about 12,500 square feet.
It may be difficult to find a home in Gables by the Sea due to the little amount of turnover. Since it’s a gated community close to excellent schools and providing easy water access, it’s not one many leave quickly. The demand is usually higher than the supply within the community.
Schools Found Nearby
Gables by the Sea is served by the public school system with very good choices for parents. Three public schools serve the neighborhood, which are:
- Pinecrest Elementary School
- Palmetto Middle School
- Miami Palmetto Senor High
Along with the public schools, parents can choose from seven area private schools including:
- The French-American School of Miami
- Riviera Day School and Riviera Preparatory School
- Gulliver Academy
- Gulliver Preparatory School
- Saint Philip’s Episcopal School
- Saint Thomas Episcopal Parish School
- Saint Theresa Catholic School
All of these schools provide top options in South Florida for students.

Area Attractions
Gables by the Sea is found close to Coral Gables, Coconut Grove and Brickell. All three of these areas provide excellent attractions for residents to enjoy. The Matheson Hammock Park is also found nearby and many residents enjoy boating throughout the area.
The Venetian Pool, Lowe Art Museum and Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden are all popular attractions found within the area. Many residents enjoy plenty of history throughout Coral Gables and convenient access to other top Miami attractions.
Living in Gables by the Sea
Along with the location providing both easy access to the best of South Florida and water access to the Biscayne Bay, residents living in Gables by the Sea enjoy plenty of luxuries. The amenities are some of the finest in the area and this gated community is known as one of the most prestigious in Coral Gables. While it’s not always easy to find a home for sale in the Gables by the Sea neighborhood, once you do, you may never want to leave.
