August 20, 2012To promote the lesser known art fairs and auxiliary events, the state of Miami organizes early December the prestigious Art Basel Miami Beach show. The rest of the Miami Art Month is then devoted to said smaller events and exhibits that showcases Miami’s galleries filled with works of wonders from various places around the globe.

On the first Friday of every month, local galleries are available for public viewing. Anyone can experience remarkable art exhibits from each gallery, along with the complimentary refreshments. Continuous shuttle buses are readily available to move from one gallery to another.

AOA Tribal Art Miami Show

Private dealers feature masterpieces of museum quality that come from Africa, Oceania, and the Americas (AOA). The conception of modern art will be explored here, beginning late 19th century when Picasso, Matisse, and Braque were greatly inspired by these arts. Notable items include ancient zoomorphic vessels with Pre-Columbian origins, African masks, oceanic shields and house panels.
