Sports Teams from Miami
September 8, 2016There are lot of things to do and enjoy in Miami. Whether you enjoy swimming, snorkeling, or waterskiing, there’s plenty to do at Miami’s many beaches. Of course, everyone already knows that. If you’re a sports fan, there’s also plenty to enjoy in the city proper. Whether you’re into football, baseball, basketball, ice hockey, or soccer, there’s a great team to root for and live games to watch.
Miami Dolphins
The oldest sports franchise in Miami is the Miami Dolphins. Originally founded in 1966, the Miami Dolphins still hold the record as the only undefeated team in American professional sports. Hosted at the New Miami Stadium, you’ll be hard pressed to find a more impressive example of Miami real estate than this spectacular stadium. It also plays host to the University of Miami Hurricanes, a local college football team. If you’re a football fan, the New Miami Stadium is the place to be. Whether you want to watch NFL games with the Dolphins or college games with the Hurricanes, you’ll be sure to have a great time with the high-energy, hard-hitting action of local Miami football.
Florida Marlins
Are you a baseball fan? The Florida Marlins were previously hosted at the New Miami Stadium, but now call Marlins Park home in downtown Miami. Marlins Park is a contemporary example of cutting-edge architecture with an abstract design and a modern, Miami feel. It was intended to be a piece of art, and it certainly delivered on that promise. Accessible by the Miami Trolley, it has become a staple of downtown Miami since 2012. If you enjoy watching live MLB games, you’ll certainly enjoy watching the Florida Marlins at the state of the art Marlins Park.
Miami Heat
Perhaps the best know professional Miami sports team is the Miami Heat. Playing at the AmericanAirlines Arena, the Miami Heat are perhaps best known for their three championships and five conference titles. If you’re a basketball fan, you owe it to yourself to check out at least one of their games. You can enjoy all of the excitement and action of an NBA game, while getting firsthand experience with one of the most iconic features of Miami real estate. The AmericanAirlines Arena deserves a visit, and the Miami Heat will make it worth the trip.
And More!
Of course, there are more sports to enjoy. If you’re a soccer fan (or football, if you’re not from the USA), you can enjoy Miami FC, an NASL team. They play their home games at FIU Stadium. Do you prefer hockey? The Florida Panthers are an NHL team based out of Sunrise, FL, which is part of the Miami metropolitan area. Whatever you fancy, there’s bound to be a team you can get behind.
