September 7, 2016South Florida is a great place to settle down—there is endless adventure and fun all over! There are many beaches to escape the hustle and bustle of the city, spend time recreating with your friends, or just kick back and relax. Beyond all of the amazing Miami real estate, there is an entire state of great places to visit. Here are a few of the best cities near Miami:
- Fort Lauderdale – Just 23 miles away from Miami, Fort Lauderdale is often called the “Venice of America.” It is surrounded by water and has a riverwalk where its arts, science, and cultural section of the city is centered. It is the eighth largest city in Florida and enjoys an average of 3,000 hours of sunshine each year.
- Orlando – At 235 miles away from Miami, Orlando is a bit of a drive but definitely worth it. It is the home of Disney World, Universal Studios, and other theme parks. In addition to the parks, there are plenty of other attractions to check out as well as excellent choices for dining.
- Key West – The southernmost tip of the United States, Key West is a great place to get the island experience. It features a culture and vibe that is unique to the city and cannot be experienced anywhere else. Great music, food, and entertainment can be found here as well as an escape from the daily grind.
- Titusville – Further up the Atlantic coast, Titusville is most notable because of its vicinity to Cape Canaveral and the Kennedy Space Center. Although the shuttles have been retired, Kennedy Space Center is still very active and rockets are launched regularly. These launches can be seen from just about anywhere in Titusville and are something that should be experienced at least once.
There are many great places to visit and experience in Florida and it is impossible to list them all. Living in Miami provides you with a unique opportunity to soak in all that Florida has to offer on your schedule, rather than trying to fit it all in during a vacation trip.
