The World’s Most Luxurious Hotels

March 12, 2012

Around the world, there are a growing number of hotels that cater to those who desire the ultimate in luxury.  Opulent lodgings can be found in any major city, but depending on the level of amenities, the price tag can be steep.

One of the least expensive of the luxury hotels is the Ritz-Carlton in Moscow.  The nightly rate for the penthouse suite is $18,200. 00.  The suite has 2,500 square feet of living space.  There is a huge living area that is furnished comfortably in classic Russian Imperial style.  In addition, there is a dining room, office, library, boardroom and a sumptuous bedroom.  The traveler can comfortably remove his shoes as even the floors are heated!

Not surprisingly, New York City is loaded with elegant hotel rooms.  One of the most impressive is located in the Four Seasons Hotel.  It is the Ty Warner Penthouse, and famous architect I.M. Pei designed it.  The suite has nine rooms and offers fantastic views of the city from each of its plentiful windows.  The craftsmanship is such that even the walls are inlaid with mother of pearl and gold.  In addition to the sumptuous surroundings, the price of the room includes unlimited spa treatments, the services of a personal trainer, use of a chauffeured Rolls Royce Limousine, and the 24/7 services of a butler for the duration of a stay. All of this is included in the nightly price of $34,000.00.

But perhaps the most lavish hotel room in the world can be found in Geneva, Switzerland.  It is the Royal Penthouse Suite at the President Wilson Hotel.  This suite occupies the entire top floor of the hotel.  A guest steps off a private elevator into a truly cavernous living area.  The living room can comfortably hold forty people.  There are also a cocktail lounge, four bedrooms, six bathrooms and a large terrace that overlooks Lake Geneva.  The suite is furnished in a contemporary style and boasts marble and hardwood floors.  Many heads of state have stayed in this suite as the security is said to be among the best in the world.  Even the windows are bullet proof! At $53,000.00 per night, this just might be the most expensive suite in the world!
