America’s Most Expensive Home Hits the Market

February 2, 2017

The most expensive home in America just hit the market with an asking price of $250 million. This incredibly luxurious home is found in Bel-Air and it wasn’t built for anybody specific. Instead, it was built on spec or built to be sold.

Property Details

America’s most expensive home is located at 924 Bel Air Road in Los Angeles. It provides 38,000 square feet of living space with two master suites, 10 VIO guest suites and a total of 21 bathrooms. Of course, that’s just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the luxuries this home provides.

The home stands four stories tall and includes all the amenities you’d expect to find in a luxury condo building. Bonus spaces include a 40-seat 4K Dolby Atmos Theater, a massage/wellness studio and spa, high-end fitness center and a four-lane bowling alley. This home also includes three gourmet kitchens, five different bars and a 17,000-square-foot entertainment deck.

The outside of the property features an 85-foot glass-tile infinity pool complete with a swim-up bar ad an outdoor hydraulic theater. Whoever decides to make America’s most expensive home theirs will also enjoy two fully-stocked wine cellars, a huge self-serve candy wall and the most advance home technology system found in the United States. While it may seem overwhelming to think about maintaining the property, it comes with a 7-person staff to help with everything.

Other Features

While the home is insanely impressive, the new buyer will also get an auto gallery with 12 cars and 10 motorcycles. There’s even a baby Formula 1 race car included in the deal. This gallery includes more than $30 million in vehicles. The home also comes with an Airwolf helicopter.

The Developer

Bruce Makowsky is responsible for developing this incredible home. He also broke a record in 2015 by developing a spec home in Beverly Hills, which sold for $70 million. Makowsky used multi-million-dollar mega-yachts as part of his research for the project. He wanted to encompass many of the luxuries the uber-wealthy seek when hitting the high seas.

Before this home hit the market, Makowsky believed the ultra-luxury real estate market didn’t have much to offer in comparison to the luxuries of the mega-yachts and private jets billionaires enjoy.

Previously, the most expensive home in the United States was an East Hampton estate, which sold for $147 million in 2014. If this new Bel-Air mansion sells for the asking price, it will up the ante by more than $100 million.
