Best Coral Gables Communities for Boaters

Coral Gables is a great place for boaters and some communities certainly cater more to boaters than others. There are several communities throughout the area with marinas, dock space and even some with private docks. Here’s a look at some of the best Coral Gables communities for boaters.

Gables Estates

This enclave hugs Biscayne Bay on the edge of Coral Gables and consists of a little over 150 homes with deep water, sea-walled waterways that wind through the estate. Considered by many as one of the most exclusive communities in the U.S.A the 24-hour security and private patrols that closely guard this community also makes it one of the most secure and private one. This boater’s paradise is tucked alone the water’s edge of “The City Beautiful”

Cocoplum

Maybe the best choice for boaters in all of Coral Gables, Cocoplum offers a very special community with some of the most exclusive homes in the area. It’s close to Coconut Grove, as well, which makes it a prime location. The yacht club is very inviting and many of the homes are found right on the water. The community also offers a fitness center, tennis courts, a clubhouse and a playground.

Sunrise Harbour

Another great choice for boaters in Coral Gables is Sunrise Harbour. This community is a very popular waterfront option and it’s also a gated community. A number of the homes found here are directly on the Biscayne Bay and others are located on the canals running throughout the area. Homes are larger with many offering four or more bedrooms.

Sunrise Harbor offers 80 total homes ranging from about $1.75 million to more than $6 million. Homes also range in size from 2,000 square feet up to 10,000 square feet. The only issue with Sunrise Harbour is the lack of homes for sale because many residents want to stay here long term.

Tahiti Beach

A subsection of the Cocoplum community, Tahiti Beach offers 29 homes in a gated community with excellent choices for boaters. The homes are very large and on large lots with plenty of private area. Tahiti beach offers a private park, tennis club and sandy beach. Boaters love this area because of the easy bay access just a short canal ride away. Many of the homes offer private docks and nearly all are waterfront.

Kings Bay

One of the top boating communities is Kings Bay. This community offers a boat ramp and marina access at the Deering Bay Marina. Dockage rights are a part of this community, as well. You’re allowed to Moor your boat for up to two nights and three days at a time, which is very rare at marinas throughout Miami.

The Coral Gables area is full of excellent communities for boats. Many communities have their own marina or offer private docks. With so many great homes on the water, it’s hard to go wrong with one of the communities listed above if you love to get out on the water and enjoy boating.
