Top Dining Spots Found South of Fifth

South Beach is known as a foodies’ paradise with so many great restaurants found all throughout the area. Many local foodies have been focused on the South of Fifth area, also known as SoFi. While this area of South Beach didn’t use to be a great place for dining, except for Joe’s Stone Crab, it has now become one of the finest districts for dining in the area.

Many of the top dining spots in South Beach are now found within the area known as SoFi. Here are some of the best places to enjoy, if you want to dine South of Fifth.

Prime One Twelve – 112 Ocean Drive, Miami Beach

Prime One TwelveWhen you dine at Prime One Twelve, you will have the opportunity to enjoy one of the finest steaks in the area. They also serve an amazing lobster bisque and a truffled mac & cheese. Often, celebrities are spotted dining at this fine establishment. Prime One Twelve is the real deal and goes beyond the typical steakhouse.

Texas De Brazil – 300 Alton Road, Miami Beach

Found at the Miami Beach Marina, this is a place to enjoy incredible beef, chicken, pork an even lamb dishes. The gaucho servers will slice the just-grilled meats right in front of you from the steel skewers onto your plate. They also have a very large salad bar with plenty of soups to enjoy.

Joe’s Stone Crab – 11 Washington Avenue, Miami Beach

Joe's Stone CrabOf course, you can’t miss Joe’s Stone Crab. This is the oldest restaurants in the SoFi district and one of the finest you will find. Joe’s serves plenty of fresh seafood and back in the day, you may have run into Amelia Earhart, Will Rogers or Al Capone at the landmark restaurant.

Today, the food is still amazing with dishes, such as the spicy chowder and sides like the crisp cole slaw. For dessert, you can’t miss with the Key Lime pie.

Estiatorio Milos by Costas Spiliadis – 730 First Street, Miami Beach

Serving excellent Greek Dishes, Estiatorio Milos is one of the best upscale restaurants in the area. They provide white table cloths on the tables, beautiful stone work throughout and incredible food. You can try the prix fixe lunch or come in for a romantic dinner. Enjoy dishes, such as the lobster pasta, salt baked whole fish or one of the many other excellent menu choices.

RED the Steakhouse – 119 Washington Avenue, Miami Beach

RED the Steakhouse has become one of the finest restaurants in the SoFi district. This fine steakhouse serves Certified Angus prime beef, Florida seafood, lamb, chops and so much more. They also have more than 700 choices on the wine list and some of the most decadent desserts in the area.

Prime Italian – 101 Ocean Drive, Miami Beach

The sister spot for Prime One Twelve, Prime Italian serves many of the same dishes, but also includes many great Italian choices. This is the spot to go when you cannot get a table at Prime One Twelve or you just want something a little different. The giant Kobe meatball is a very popular choice and you certainly want to save room for dessert.

French 27 – 850 Commerce Street, Miami Beach

French 27When you’re craving classic French cuisine, French 27 is the place for you. It can be hard to find French food in the South Beach area, but French 27 has you covered. The menu comes from two award-winning chefs using only the freshest ingredients they can find. Enjoy freshly-shucked shellfish, French onion soup and plenty of other choices on the menu.

Smith & Wollensky – 1 Washington Avenue, Miami Beach

A popular steakhouse with plenty of great views, Smith & Wollensky provides excellent cuts of beef and so much more. Enjoy watching the cruise ships come in while dining on juicy steaks. You can also stop in for a drink or enjoy a massive portion of chocolate layer cake. Smith & Wollensky offers plenty when it comes to food, but they also offer a unique location with interesting views.

When you want to find a great place to dine in the South of Fifth district, these restaurants provide plenty of variety and plenty of great choices. There may not have been much of a food scene here before, but now, SoFi is a hot spot for fine dining establishments in South Beach.
