Many of the communities found within Coconut Grove are very desirable due to the great schools in the area, the walkability and the luxury amenities. Of course, the laid back atmosphere, unique buildings and bohemian chic style doesn’t hurt either.
Many buyers looking within the Coconut Grove area are interested in gated communities. This adds a bit of additional security to the community and there are plenty to choose from throughout the area. Here’s a look at some of the top gated communities in Coconut Grove and what they have to offer.
Hughes Cove – $1.3 – $12.5+ million
A very exclusive community, Hughes Cover provides a great place for boat lovers. However, there are only 15 homes here, so only about two sell every year, or less. The homes range from about 3,400 to 10,000 square feet, while the lots range from 9,000 to 25,000 square feet.
This is a waterfront community sitting right on the ocean. However, most homes re on dry lots, but some do provides waterfront access on the bay.
Camp Biscayne – $1 – $11 million
A waterfront community with 26 homes, Camp Biscayne is one of the most exclusive communities in coconut Grove. Homes range from 1,500 to 8,000 square feet and sit on lots ranging from 14,000 to 70,000 square feet. Some homes provide direct bay access, while others do provide great water views.
Moorings – $1.5 – $8.5+ million
Found in South Coconut Grove, this beautiful gated community provides 37 luxury estates. It’s a waterfront enclave with an excellent location found close to top area shopping and dining options. The community is complete with boat docks and a small park. Residents can even access the Biscayne Bay from here.
Home found within this community range from about 4,000 to 6,000 square feet the lots range from 10,000 to 12,000 square feet. The Moorings only sees two or three sales per year, on average.
The Anchorage – $2.1 – $7+ million
Another incredibly exclusive gated community in Coconut Grove, The Anchorage only contains five homes. A couple of the homes are on the bay and they range from 5,000 to more than 10,000 square feet. The homes sit on lots ranging from 14,500 to 18,500 square feet and there’s not much turnover in this community.
Entrada Estates – $950K – $5+ million
Providing 32 homes, Entrada Estates is another gated community found in South Coconut Grove. It’s found directly on the water and the community provides boat docks with direct access to Biscayne Bay. There are also tennis courts within the community.
Homes found here are located on the canals or the ocean. They range from 2,400 to 11,000 square feet in size and the lots range from 14,000 square feet up to a full two acres.
Four Way Lodge Estates – $875K – $4.5+ million
With 44 homes, Four Way Lodge Estates is one of the larger gated communities found in Coconut Grove. The homes range from 2,000 square feet up to about 11,000 square feet with lots ranging from 7,600 square feet up to 35,000 square feet. Most of the homes are found on dry lots, but a few are located on the open bay or a canal.
Ye Little Woods – $1 – $4.2 million
Another non-waterfront community, Ye Little Woods offers 33 homes in total. It’s a mixture of timber and cottage homes ranging from 1,500 to 8,500 square feet. The lots range from 6,700 to 26,500 square feet in size.
DeGarmo Estates – $1.15 – $2.8 million
With just 10 homes, DeGarmo Estates is a very private gated community and one of the more affordable options in Coconut Grove. Homes range from 2,470 to 7,700 square feet and sit on lots ranging from 11,000 to 19,500 square feet in size. It’s a non-waterfront community, which helps to make it more affordable.
Treasure Trove – $1.4 – $2.3 million
A non-waterfront community found in North Coconut Grove, Treasure Trove is a community of just ten homes. The homes are a bit smaller ranging from 3,800 to 5,200 square feet and they sit on smaller dry lots of about 10,000 to 11,500 square feet. The community is found close to the best schools in the area and some of the top attractions including Monty’s Trainers Marina and Grove Key Marina.
