As one of the best home markets for families in South Florida, Coral Gables provides a number of great gated communities. The community is known for great schools and a high walkability score. It’s also known for the lifestyle it provides and some of the gated communities are known as very exclusive. Here’s a look at the top gated communities found in Coral Gables.

Gables Estates – $2.3 – $17+ million

Gable Estates provides 170 luxury homes ranging from 3,200 to 17,000 square feet on lots ranging from 30,000 square feet to two full acres. It’s a waterfront community with most homes sitting on the canals or the bay.

Tahiti Beach – $3.2 – $14+ million

An exclusive gated community of just 29 homes, Tahiti Beach is a bay front community. Homes range from 7,400 to 15,000 square feet with larger lots ranging from 30,000 to 53,000 square feet. Some of the homes are found on the bay or on canals.

Snapper Creek Lakes – $2.6 – $10+ million

Another community built around a lake, Snapper Creek Lakes contains homes on the lake and on the canals. There are 124 homes in total ranging from 3,300 to 16,000 square feet in size. The homes sit on lots ranging from 34,000 to 2+ acres in size.

Old Cutler Bay – $2.1 – $8.35 million

A guard-gated community with 136 homes, Old Cutler Bay covers more than 150 total acres of land. Many homes have direct ocean access from canals and the bay. The homes range from 2,700 to 10,000 square feet and sit on lots ranging from 15,000 to 45,000 square feet.

Sunrise Harbor – $1.75 – $6+ million

A sought-after waterfront community in Coral Gables, Sunrise Harbour is one of the top gated communities for boaters. The homes range from 2,000 to 10,000 square feet and sit on lots ranging from 10,000 to 28,000 square feet. Many homes are directly on the canals or on the bay.

Hammock Lakes – $1.9 – $5.5+ million

A gated community of 160 homes, Hammock Lakes is built around two lakes. The homes here range from 3,000 to 12,000 square feet and sit on lots ranging from 30,000 to 77,000 square feet.

Hammock Oaks – $1.36 – $3.35 million

A waterfront gated community with 107 homes, Hammock Oaks provides access to the Biscayne Bay. Homes range from 3,170 square feet up to 6,740 square feet and sit on lots ranging from 15,000 to 40,000 square feet.

Deering Bay – $1.2 – $2.5 million

A gated community with 25 estate homes and more than 250 condos and villas, Deering Bay provides plenty of waterfront options. It covers about 220 total acres with three marinas, a world-class golf and tennis resort and plenty of amenities.

Homes range from 3,532 to 6,200 square feet and sit on lots ranging from 7,800 to 16,000 square feet. Due to the condos and villas, Deering Bay is one of the more affordable gated communities in Coral Gables.

Cutler Oaks Estates – $2.15 – $2.4+ million

A lake front community with just 15 homes, Cutler Oaks Estates provides homes from 5,200 to 7,309 square feet. The lots range from 18,400 to 34,000 square feet and the community provides tennis courts, along with other amenities.

Kings Bay – $550K – $2.1 million

A gated community of 150 homes, Kings Bay is found just north of the Deering Bay Yacht and Country Club. Homes range from 2,000 to 4,500 square feet and sit on lots ranging from 12,500 to 19,000 square feet.
