Why Live in Miami: The Nightlife
May 26, 2017Miami is famously known for its nightlife and there is good reason for that. The city delivers impressive nights out like no other. From the mega-clubs of South Beach to bumping into celebrities and seeing the sun rise over the beach questioning why you are still up. Miami is the best place for people who love to party.
It’s not all about South Beach though; all Miami neighborhoods have their own nightlife personality. Read on to find out what types of nightlife Miami’s neighborhoods have to offer.
South Beach
South Beach is scattered with large clubs that bring the party people in tiny skirts and stilettos every night of the week. These clubs offer a constant schedule of hip hop artists, pop stars, and international DJs putting on shows for admiring fans. Celebrities are typically hosting these parties or they are hanging out in the VIP area having their own party.
Although the big party scene is what put South Beach on the map there are places to go in South Beach that offer a more chill, but just as fun night out. From cozy lounges to trendy cocktail bars, it’s not hard to find a hip party in South Beach without the annoyance of the velvet rope.
South Beach has you covered whether you are looking to dance until the crack of dawn or drink cocktails in a classy environment.
Wynwood and Midtown
Bordering its neighbor Midtown is Wynwood Art District, and both have easygoing choices for a fun night out. Midtown tends to be a bit more closed up, home to lustrous condos that house young professionals, while Wynwood is a hectic swirl of mural art and a common hangout for artistic professionals.
There is always a new cool spot to check out as these neighborhoods are developing fast. From live music spots with a chill feel to beer gardens with reasonably priced drinks, Midtown and Wynwood make a night out pretty painless.
Downtown and Brickell
Separated by the Miami River are downtown Miami and Brickell, both neighborhoods house condos, skyscraping office building, and loads of options for fun nightlife. They tend to cater to the post-work group as they are popular neighborhoods for happy hour.
On the weekend Mary Brickell Village is where the party people go, there are many bars that are within close walking distance of each other. You’ll find everything from stylish hotel lobby bars to sports bars, and a few places to dance. Downtown is more of a grittier site with one very cool cocktail bar and after hours nightclubs.
Coconut Grove
The Coconut Grove neighborhood is historic and delightful, to some extent a bohemian retreat that looks over Biscayne Bay and Dinner Key Marina. This is where you will find the relaxed seafront bars for those you just came in off the water or those who just want to relish the view of sailboat masts against the glistening bay.
