A desirable community offering plenty of options for families, retirees, young couples and just about any type of homebuyer, Coral Gables is a great place to live. It’s known for golf courses, community parks and diverse real estate with luxury properties and affordable options. Most of the real estate options are single-family homes, but some boutique condo buildings are found throughout the area. Townhomes are another option found throughout Coral Gables.

The schools are very good and many move to the area specific for schools, such as St. Thomas and St. Philips, which are both private Pre-K to 5th grade schools. Gulliver found in Pinecrest is another very popular option and even the public schools here are some of the best in the state.

What to Know Before Moving to Coral Gables

Coral Gables provides a large range of options from a smaller Spanish Colonial home to large, high-end mansions. You can live on the water, on or near a golf course or even in a gated community. US1 divides the community and the west side provides more affordable housing options, while the east side is higher end. The west side of US1 does offer the Granada Golf Course and The Biltmore Golf Course, which have some luxurious home options surrounding them.

Homes found on the eastern side of US! tend to be larger and some are found on the water. Some of the higher end homes give the owner bay access. The eastern section of Coral Gables is certainly home to the best gated communities and most luxurious homes in the area.

Where to shop and Dine

It won’t be hard to adjust when you decide to relocate to Coral Gables. The Miracle Mile and Downtown area provide plenty of great shopping and dining options. In fact, this is an area that attracts residents from surrounding communities because there are so many great options.

In addition, the Shops at Merrick Park provide a good option and there are a few other options throughout Coral Gables. The community is built on convenience with everything you need just a short drive away. In fact, some communities are close enough to the shopping and dining that you may be able to walk.

Things to Do

It’s home to a number of great attractions, such as the Matheson Hammock Park, Lowe Art Museum and Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden. In addition, the location makes it very easy to enjoy some of the most amazing beaches throughout the Miami area.

How Much will it Cost?

Moving to Coral Gables means you will need to look into how much you can expect to pay to liv here. It all depends on what you want, as prices range from very affordable to very expensive.

For a Coral Gables condo, you will pay between $250K and $4 million. The more affordable option will be for an older one bedroom, while the higher end condos tend to be newer and usually found on the water. The Gables Club condos and Deering Bay Community both provide some of the most exclusive options.

If you prefer a single-family home, the prices will start around $500K. They can go up to more than $50 million for the amazing waterfront mansions. Expect to pay about $1 million for an older home on the canal, while the nicer homes, closer to the water will run a few million.

Townhomes are another option found in Coral Gables with exclusive communities, such as Almeria Row, Santander Townhomes and Anastasia townhomes offering great luxurious options. The price range for townhomes will run from about $500K to $2 million.

Making the decision to relocate to Coral Gables is a big decision. However, it becomes easier when you realize how excellent the area is with great schools, awesome attractions and plenty of real estate options.
