Attending the Most Expensive Sporting Events in the World
July 18, 2013When it comes to sporting events, getting just any ticket isn’t usually the issues. However, if you’re looking for the full VIP treatment, it’s not always so easy to find or afford the experience you seek. Sports fans willing to drop a stack of cash for a lavish experience can enjoy the following events:
A Suite at Yankee Stadium
The most expensive sporting event in the entire world is found right at Yankee Stadium. The suites here come in at well over a half a million dollars, for the available packages. The 122 front-row seats go for $2,500 per seat for each game. You do gain access to the two-story exclusive club, with food and beverage service at your seat. Those sitting here can also enjoy two dugout lounges.
There is a catch, however. You can’t just purchase a ticket for one game or even for one season. These seats must be leased for three, five, seven or ten years. For a five-year deal, sports fans will spend around a million and if the team makes the playoffs, expect the price to go up.
If you don’t want to spend the money for one of these seats, you can choose one of the 66 luxury boxes. These seat 12 to 32 people and come in at a price tag of $600,000 to $850,000 a year.

The BCS Championship Game
Every year the top two college teams play for the BCS Trophy. If you want to attend this event in style, you will need a luxury suite. These run anywhere from $200,000 to $500,000 depending on the teams playing and the location. When the game was played in the Superdome in 2012, luxury boxes were $200K to $250K.
The Winter and Summer Olympics
The Olympics don’t happen every year, but when they do, they price tag is high. Some of the hockey games during the Winter Olympics cost more than $5,000 just to get in the stadium. The luxury seats are far more expensive.
The Summer Olympics is even more expensive. When they were held in London, the best hospitality seats for the Opening Ceremonies were as expensive at $8,800 each.
