Four Extravagant MotorcyclesJuly 22, 2013
Motorcycles are at an all-time high in popularity and one of the best ways to get around. Some bikes are made for everyday use, while others are made for collecting. If you’re looking for something to add to your collection, these four hogs should fit in nicely.
The Icon Sheene
Andrew Morris crested this bike as a tribute to Barry Sheene, the British Grand Prix motorcycle champion. Barry died in 2003 and he was only 52 years old. The 1400cc motorcycle provides 250 horsepower and only 52 of these beauties were made. If you want to own one of these bikes, it will run $160,000.
The Ecosse Titanium Series RR Limited Edition
Limited Edition is an understatement with this bike. Only ten of these bikes were made and it comes with a timepiece designed by BRM. Features, such as a titanium chassis and clear coated carbon fiber wheels make this a perfect choice for the serious collector. This 2,150cc bike provides over 200 horsepower and will cost $275,000, if you can find one.
The NCR M16
At a weight of only 319 pounds, this beautiful bike provides a carbon fiber frame and a tuned Ohlins suspension. If you’re looking to drop over $200K for your next bike, this one will empty your wallet nicely.
The Dodge Tomahawk V10 Superbike
For over a half-million, you can own this concept bike, which is more of a sculpture than an actual bike. It’s not street legal in the US, but does come with an 8.3-liter engine with ten cylinders. The bike goes as fast as 400 mph and weighs 1,500 pounds. With an independent four-wheel suspension, the Tomahawk can get to 60 mph in 2.5 seconds.
These are just four of the most extravagant motorcycles found today. If you’re looking for something to add to your collection and you can locate one of these beauties, you’ll own one of the rarest bikes on the planet.
