Gourmet Movie Snacks Becoming Available
November 26, 2013Have you ever wanted to attend a movie theater with a flute of champagne, truffled popcorn and amazing macarons? This is finally becoming a reality in New York, Paris and London. No longer will you be stuck with a soda, bag of Skittles and buttered popcorn.
Luc Besson recently opened a multiplex just outside Paris with high dollar snacks, such as smoked salmon and caviar. This is just one of the latest theaters of this type, with New York and London already providing homes for luxury movie theaters.
Le Popcorn Project
A social cinema club called Le Popcorn Project has also taken this luxury theater experience to the public. With monthly screenings including movie snacks, such as quiches, pies, dim sum, gourmet sandwiches and savory tarts, this club provides an experience you just cannot find elsewhere.
Other theaters found throughout New York and London, usually referred to as Indie movie theaters also provide sophisticated snacks instead of the typical movie snacks.

Found in London, this movie theater provides something more than just a place to watch a movie. Edible Cinema pairs your snack choice with the movie. For example, during a scene in Pan’s Labyrinth, patrons enjoyed pine-smoked popcorn while characters ran through a pine forest. This type of experience helps to bring the movie alive in new ways.
