South Florida Lists Multiple Zip Codes on the Forbes 2016 List

The Forbes 2016 list of most expensive zip codes in America has been released and the South Florida area has five zip codes found in the top 100. In 2015, the South Florida area only had three zip codes in the top 100 and the only one that has been a regular is Fisher Island. Here’s a look at the five South Florida zip codes making the list.

Miami Beach – 33139

miami-beachFound in the 11th spot on the list is 33139. It’s the first time this zip code has made the list and it’s found near the top. This zip code covers Miami Beach including the Venetian Islands. It made the list with median home prices at $5.7 million. Homes also stayed on the market for an average of 300 days in Miami Beach.

Fisher Island – 33109

While Fisher Island is the only South Florida zip code found on the Forbes list just about every year, it did drop from #6 in 2015 to 24th this year. The median price for the zip code was $4.6 million with homes staying on the market an average of 167 days.

Pinecrest – 33156

The 33156 zip code is shown on the Forbes list as Coral Gables. However, this is actually the Pinecrest and Matheson Hammock area. In 2015, this zip code ranked #28 and this year it has fallen to 39th. The median price for Pinecrest is $3.9 million and homes stay on the market for an average of 251 days.

South Miami – 33143

The 33143 zip code was the third of the South Florida zip codes making the list in 2015. It ranked 35th, but has dropped to 49th this year. Homes have a median price of $3.5 million and stay on the market for an average of 216 days.

Bay Harbor Islands/Bal Harbor/Indian Creek and Surfside – 33154

bal-harborWhile Forbes lists the 33154 zip code as just the Bay Harbor Islands, it actually includes Surfside, Bal Harbour and Indian Creek. This area jumped up many spots to put South Florida at 5 total zip codes in the top 100. It was ranked at #470 last year, but has jumped all the way up to 88th this year. The median price was $2.6 million, while homes stayed on the market for an average of 76 days.

  • Fort Lauderdale – 33301 – #440

All of these zip codes had a median price above $1.1 million and made the top 500 on the Forbes list of America’s Most Expensive Zip Codes for 2016.
