The 3 Best Golf Courses in MiamiFebruary 22, 2013
We won’t need to tell you that the fabulous weather in Miami and over 300 days of sunshine per year means that it’s an ideal place for the avid golfer to live. As you might also imagine there are dozens of different courses around Miami for you to play on but when you have so many to choose from how can you know which one is best for you and your game? It’s a weird quirk of human nature that when we’re presented with any more than around 8 choices our brains completely freeze up and we can’t decide anything at all.
So to save you all those headaches of choosing we’ve listed 3 of the very best golf courses in Miami, with a design and environment to suit just about every type of golfer reading this. Obviously you don’t want to only move to Miami for its golf…but it helps.
Doral Golf Resort
If you plan on playing on this course you’ll need to be able to hit those long balls because the “Blue Monster” course designed by Dick Wilson is going to require that you’re able to play a game which can cope with a lot of long shots and water hazards. This course hosts an annual PGA event with the usual bevy of golf celebrities making an appearance.
The Biltmore Hotel Golf & Spa
This is one of the older golf courses in the area having originally been designed by Donald Ross in 1925 but it did receive a facelift in 2007. You can take full advantage of the valet and bag attendant service offered here but please be aware this is a very, very popular golf course so it’s a good idea to make appointments well in advance of when you intend to play.
Fairmont Turnberry Isle Resort & Club
Yet another course for a golfer capable of hitting the long ball and with the recent $150 million renovation of the courses, and the redesign of some of the championship course, by Raymond Floyd you’re assured of a challenging round or two in a great environment.
