7-seater Mercedez Benz GL Transforms Into a 4-Seater Oasis, Thanks to VilnerOctober 5, 2012
One would imagine that a fully loaded Mercedez-Benz would need no tweaking and rightly so. But Vilner will turn this perception on its head. Recently, a Bulgarian interior specialist’s Your Style inside team wanted more oomph in their Mercedes GL and wanted to mould the GL into a luxurious four-seater.
One of the issues that the anonymous client had was that the GL was a seven-seater. However, he desired a more spacious four-seater. Vilner explains that the client desired personal engagement with his GL. He wanted every luxury to be created in the GL according to his whims and fancies. His wish list included a 4-seater oasis, which would ensure that he glides on the roads while soaking in his world of fantastic music, relaxation and the warm feeling of space in his GL.
Here’s where Vilner stepped in, with his style inside team. The first thing they decided to do was trash the third row seats. The second row gave way to two front GL throne-style seats that gave the passengers acres of leg room. To add to this, Vilner installed a center console that acted as an extension to the front console. An aluminum pillar was added on the top that was designed especially for the iPad and capable of rotating in all directions. The GL was then covered in soundproof material that ensured that the unwanted outside noise didn’t intrude the ambient light illuminated interiors. A light-brown Alcantara acted as the headliner and the familiar relief color patterns were borrowed from a Bugatti Veyron.
The out-of-the-world audio system was placed in the trunk and fine-tuned so that the rear two occupants feel the full force of the “4-volume audio system, two subwoofers, three amplifiers, audio processor Audison, 31-band equalizer TSP”. And guess what, the controls sit neatly in the iPad dock.
