An Introduction to the Alfa Romeo 4C
October 7, 2013With only two vehicles in the Alfa Romeo lineup, it wasn’t looking like much would come from this luxury Italian firm, but a new supercar is about to arrive. The firm believes this vehicle will not only compete with all the other top choices, but also blow them away.
The Alfa Romeo 4C is a compact supercar perfect for those looking for speed, luxury and fun with an environmentally friendly design. The year has been all about getting this car introduced to the world with shows in Detroit, New York, Geneva, Frankfurt and all over the world. The car provides plenty of beauty and style, but some of the statistics have been hard to find.

This car comes with a 1.7-liter four-cylinder engine, which may not seem like much, but it’s turbocharged and the lightweight design of this carbon fiber machine makes it easy to find speed with this vehicle. It goes from 0-62mph in 4.5 seconds and has a top speed of 160mph.
The car really becomes impressive when you discover the horsepower and the torque. For a compact supercar, it’s at the top of the class with 240bhp at 6,000 rpm. This gives you 137hp per liter and the power-to-weight ratio is 268bhp. With 258 lb. ft. of torque, this vehicle provides the driver with plenty of speed and power.
Probably the most impressive part of this supercar is the 41.5 miles per gallon it provides and the low CO2 emissions. It also provides a McPherson suspension arrangement, good weight distribution and a paddle-shift gearbox.
If you’re an Alfa Romeo purist, you will love the clear influence of the other models found within the 4C. With rear-wheel drive, a mid-mounted engine and plenty of power, this is one of the best models they’ve introduced and a game-changer for sure.
This will be a limited edition vehicle and will only provide 3,500 models over 3.5 years. The first delivery will happen in 2014 and the price tag comes in around 45,000 pounds. This puts the vehicle in the same category with the Mercedes SLK, Audi TT, BMW Z4 and the Porsche Boxster.
