DKNY’s Golden Delicious Perfume is Truly One of a Kind, Sort of
June 28, 2012Have you ever felt guilty about spending more than you should on a bottle of perfume? Just wait until you hear the price on one bottle of DKNY’s newest scent, Golden Delicious, and you won’t feel so guilty…$1,000,000 is how much you will have to drop to acquire the one of a kind diamond encrusted bottle of DKNY’s newest premium perfume. Or, of course you could also buy it in a normal bottle for about $50 from your local store, but where’s the fun in that?
DKNY teamed up with one of the world’s top celebrity jewelers – Martin Katz – to create the million dollar bottle. Apparently it took over 1,500 hours of work to put together, which actually seems a little on the low side once you hear what it’s made of. The bottle itself is handcrafted from 14K yellow and white gold, and adorned with nearly 3000 precious stones. There are 2700 tiny white diamonds that make up the cityscape design around the side of the bottle, each of the highest quality and totaling over 15 carats in weight. In addition to the white diamonds, there are 180+ golden sapphire crystals encrusted in the bottle, and the cap is topped off with a pure 2.43 carat canary yellow diamond. To say the scent is sparkly would be the understatement of the year!
Even though you may think that this bottle of perfume seems lavish, you’ll be reassured to know that DKNY is sending the net profits along to Action Against Hunger, which is a nonprofit dedicated to ending world hunger. All in all, it’s a gorgeous bottle for a good cause, but if you want the actual scent and don’t have $1M burning a hole in your pocket, you’re probably better off just buying it for a tiny fraction of the price at a local retailer.
