Euro 2012 Starting Today
June 8, 2012Every 4 years the top 16 European national soccer teams participate in a final tournament which declares the European champion. Many claim that this tournament is only second to the world cup bringing Europe’s top soccer talent in front of billion of viewers around the world. 3 plus weeks of soccer madness will take over and will yield some epic battles such as Germany vs. the Netherlands, Spain Vs. Italy, England Vs. France, and many more.
Some of the favorites this year are Spain (Euro 2008 champion), Germany, Netherland, France, and Croatia. With such a great lineup every year the experts declare a “group of death” which puts 3 or 4 great teams in one group for the first leg out of which only two can advance. This year Group B which includes Netherlands, Denmark, Germany and Portugal, has been declared by most experts the group of death. The Netherlands and Germany are expected to come out of this group in the first round, but both Denmark and Portugal are very dangerous and could pull off a surprise in that group.
Euro 2012 final tournament kicked off today and will conclude on July 1 with the final game.
