January 26, 2010

The vintage collector car auction that began last week in Arizona boasted of around 2,500 vintage beauties ranging from one-off design studies by automakers, racecars that soldiered through international events and vehicles once owned by celebrities. But one car that managed to steal the show was the Maharani Special Cadillac which is estimated to fetch $150,000 to $200,000 at the auction. The car was built by General Motors for its 1956 Motorama show, a traveling exhibition of extravagant dream cars and the latest in automotive technology. G.M. built four Cadillac concepts in 1956 and the Maharani is the sole survivor.
For the foodie on the go, this car is equipped with all the conveniences for those with a large appetite! The passenger seat is replaced by a number of culinary appliances, including a toaster, refrigerator, hot plate, cutlery holder as well as a kitchen sink!
