Miami’s Best Beaches

May 25, 2016

Every visitor and resident of Miami should enjoy all of the stunning beaches that Miami has to offer. From the golden sands and endless blue waters, to the sunshine that never seems to retire, Florida is the best place for beach vacationing, recreation, and putting down roots.
Fort Lauderdale: This stunning, world-class beach offers luxurious amenities for yacht owners, the International Swimming Hall of Fame for those interested in the historical aspects of the sport, as well an invigorating beach location for recreation and sunbathing.
Haulover Beach: You don’t have to visit Europe to find nude beaches. Haulover Beach is famous for its clothing-optional area, where visitors are allowed to shed their bathing suits and enjoy the Sun’s rays to the fullest. But, if relaxing in your birthday suit isn’t quite your cup of tea, you can still enjoy tennis, basketball, swimming, surfing, and the annual February Kite Festival.
Lummus Park Beach: This is the most popular stretch of beach in the larger South Beach area. There are mini playgrounds, volleyball courts, and even a gay beach available near 12th street (Lummus Beach stretches from about 5th to 15th street).
Hobie Beach: Hobie is a premier destination for windsurfing and sailboarding. Rentals can be found at a local stand, which has always offered fair prices and high quality equipment.
Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park Beach: Located on the south side of Key Biscayne, you can enjoy the serenity of Bill Baggs Cape, bike, sunbathe, swim, fish, kayak, and take a tour of the historic Cape Florida Lighthouse. There are two delicious restaurants on site, both of which offer a diverse selection of eats for every diet!
Virginia Key Beach: For a long while, this was the only beach in Florida that allowed African Americans. Now, it is the perfect spot for people-watching, or seclusion from the crowds. Leashed dogs are also allowed!
Crandon Park: Ideal for recreation, as Crandon Park offers clear waters, several lifeguards on duty, trails, picnics, cookout areas, concessions, as well as a nature center. There are outdoor skating rinks, a carousel, playground, and splash fountain for the whole family! There is also an adjacent golf course, and a tennis court.
Sunny Isles Beach: Sunny Isles is popular for diving and snorkeling, as the waters are clear and populated with marine life! Go diving, sunbathing, and spend the sunny days at local restaurants and cafes, which offer an amazing diversity of seafood, American fare, so much more!
