Our Support Of The Miami Children’s Hospital
August 19, 2013Michael “Mike” B. Fernandez, Chairman of MBF Healthcare Partners, had decided to embark on a 823Km (over 500 miles) walk dedicated to raise funds for Miami Children’s Hospital. This hospital has touched the lives of millions of children in it’s 63-year history. Audrey Ross decided to support Mike’s purpose to raise money for this great institution.
“While i am aware that each of us has a multitude of good causes that we routinely support , it is seldom that we get such a wonderful opportunity as the one described below . Don’t miss out on knowing that you have participated in something that is going to make a difference in the life of a Miami child,” Ross says. “Join me in supporting Mike as he ‘walks for the children’ of Miami Children’s Hospital” she adds.

Mr. Fernandez’s support of children’s health began back in 1977 in what he describes as a life changing event. At the time he was about 25 years old and was earning a very low salary, but despite all this he decided to help a child that lost her legs and was in need of prosthetics. Fernandez described his feeling as “euphoria of happiness” when he heard that the child he had helped “was standing”. Since that day, Mr. Fernandez became more involved in helping those in need, especially if it involved children.
This year it was Mr. Fernandez family’s turn to receive care. His granddaughter Daniella needed an open heart surgery at 19 months of age. She had several holes in her heart and thankfully each was successfully repaired. Thanks to the Miami Children’s Hospital, Daniella today is well on her way to live a happy healthy life.
The most vulnerable children at the Miami Children’s Hospital need your help today. Mr. Fernandez has pledged to devote every ounce of energy to complete a 40 to 50 day journey (walking) from France to Spain raising money for the Miami Children’s Hospital, and you can join him by supporting this great institution. For more information and to make a donation click here.
