April 23, 2012Roman Abramovich is a Russian oligarch and billionaire. Forbes Magazine has estimated his worth at 13.4 billion dollars. According to Abranovich, his life only became “more extravagant” after he bought the Chelsea Football Club in 2003. And extravagant is an understatement for his current lifestyle. Abramovich owns several homes worth millions of dollars each. The Duke and Duchess of Windsor once owned his multimillion-dollar chateau in France. In addition to this sumptuous chateau, he also owns a 420-acre estate in West Sussex. Perhaps the crown jewel of Abramovich’s string of residences is in Kensington Palace Garden. The billionaire announced that he intends to make this palace his primary residence. The structure is located on what is commonly referred to as “Billionaire’s Row,” and it was once the Soviet Embassy’s Naval Headquarters. The estate features fifteen bedrooms and extensive gardens. The billionaire recently began wide-ranging renovations on this piece of property. When it’s finished, it should be fit for both a king – and Abramovich!
When Abramovich needs a vacation, he can fly on one of his many jets to his thirty-six million dollar home near Aspen, Colorado. It’s called Wildcat Ridge, and it encompasses 200 acres and features a 14,300 square foot home. To ensure that there is always room for family and guests, the home has eleven bedrooms and twelve bathrooms.
In addition to all his homes, Abramovich owns an eighteen-acre island in the middle of the St. Petersburg Canal. The billionaire paid 400 million dollars for the island. He maintains that he intends to transform it into a cultural center for the Russian people.
Abramovich is an avid yachtsman, and he own four yachts. His most expensive yacht was purchased in 2010 for 800 million dollars. The yacht is ultra luxurious and features a 5,000 square foot master bedroom. It’s so huge that it can house 115 people at one time. It takes a full time crew of sixty-six to staff this yacht. Because Abrmovich is always concerned about security, the yacht is equipped with amour plating and bulletproof windows. As an added measure of security, there is an escape submarine attached to the bottom of the sub. Roman Abramovich is a man who knows how to live well – and he can afford it!
