One of the most important celebration in anybody’s life is their wedding day. However, some cannot afford to spend as much as other. The average price of a wedding today is around $20,000. Those willing to spend more, may have an extravagant day. Here’s a look at the most expensive weddings of all time.

Chelsea Clinton and Mark Mezvinsky – $5 million

Chelsea and husband Marc spent about $5 million in 2010 to get married. It was a celebration attended by about 400 people and held in upstate New York. The dress was from Vera Wang, who was also a guest at the wedding. Bill and Hilary Clinton were adorned in Oscar de la Renta.

Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries – $10 million

Even though it didn’t last, the Kardashian-Humphries wedding was one of the most expensive of all time. It was a top ceremony in just about every magazine. With more than $10 million watching on TV, the couple may have spent $10 million, but they made about $18 million by selling the rights to their pictures. However the divorce happening 72 days later wasn’t a profitable venture.

Prince William and Kate Middleton – $34 million

It’s no surprise to find royalty on this list. One of the biggest events of the entire decade, this wedding was watched by nearly 2 billion people worldwide. The guest list had three lists with 1,900 on the first, 600 on the second and 300 on the third.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Princess Salama – $100 million

The most expensive wedding ever was between Sheik Mohammed and Princess Salama. It happened in 1981 and provides a ceremony lasting an entire week. A stadium seating 20,000 was built for the wedding. There were also 20 camels decorated with jewels, which were delivered to the bride as a gift.

These are just a few of the very expensive and extravagant weddings of all time. Many others have eclipsed the $1 million mark.
