WWDC 2012 keynote speech
June 11, 2012The moment many in the technology world have been waiting for is here. WWDC2012, Apple Inc.s world wide developer Conference, kicked-off with it’s famous keynote speech earlier this morning. Thousands off developers form all around the world lined up outside the Moscone West in San Francisco since the early hours of the morning.
As with previous WWDC keynote speeches, Apple made some extremely exciting announcements this morning. The spotlight was first aimed at the MacBook line-up. Upgrading both the MacBookPro and the MacBook Air. They made them both lighter faster and stronger. USB3.0, which is said to be 10 times faster than USB2.0 has been integrated to both lines. The first wow factor that was introduced was the new next generation MacBookPro. Thinner than its predecessor featuring an incredible Retina display. This stunning 2880 x 1880 pixels make this the world’s highest resolution notebook.
Next the focus was turned towards Mountain Lion. Apple’s new OS X version. With over 200 new features built into it Mountain Lion promises to enhance the OS X experience a great deal. iCloud integration makes sharing all your documents, pictures, web browsing information and more, accross all your Mac and iOS devices a simpler task than ever. Further integration of Twitter, Facebook, and iMessage into the operating system makes it so easy to share your digital life with everyone that you wish.Mountain Lion is said to be released next month and will cost $19.99.
Finally it was the turn of iOS 6. This highly anticipated upgrade to Apple’s mobile devices operating system packs over 200 of new features. Siri hit the books and learned some more information since it’s release. You can now get more information from your new companion about sports, restaurants, movies and more. Eyes off Siri was announced which will bring Siri to your car. Facebook will be integrated to the new iOS similarly to the way Twitter was integrated to the last release which will make the ability to share your life on Facebook from your iOS device even simpler. Single app mode will allow you to setup your phone to apps in a mode that no other feature or another app can be used at the same time. Finally the rumors for a new mapping App were put to rest when the Apple Map app was introduced. With some great features such as traffic, local search, turn by turn navigation (which integrates Siri as well), and flyover this app is set to replace Google’s map services in iOS.
